Editorial Review for Cherry Hills Lodge & Golf Resort – by Sandy Soule
Built in 1990, and owned by Peter and Dianne Trenchard, the Cherry Hills Lodge offers comfortable guest rooms overlooking the golf course, and inviting common areas with handsome rock fireplaces.
"Our room was spacious and comfortable, tastefully furnished. Meals were served in the medium-sized dining room with a magnificent view of the rolling hills of the golf course; it was sunlit during the day and warmed by an intimate fireplace at night. One night we had perfectly cooked whitefish with almonds, the next, prime ribs of beef. The hospitable owners and staff made us feel like special guests. The golf course is one of the more challenging and picturesque courses in Door County." (James Larson)
"A positive experience starting with the first telephone call. Excellent food and a fine golf course." (Dennis & Sandra Herfel) "Although the location is convenient, the inn is secluded, quiet, and restful. The view from our immaculate room was of rolling hills, forest, and scattered farms. Our February stay featured traditional jazz entertainment; nearby Whitefish Dunes State Park gave us an opportunity to cross-country ski on groomed trails with views of Lake Michigan. Divine chocolate cheesecake and pecan pie with bourbon sauce for dessert. The innkeepers were readily available and helpful." (Janet Stavros) "Beautifully decorated rooms with balconies. Wonderful collection of golf-related art. Good food, well prepared and reasonably priced." (Arline Vancura-Esposito) "Outstanding brunch; attractive decor. Best of all are owners Diane and Peter Trenchard, who are always around, helping out, and making sure that everyone is happy." (Elizabeth Jackson)
