Editorial Review for Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park – by Content provided by ReserveAmerica
Overview
Dramatic and sometimes fog-shrouded, the park stretches from the Big Sur coastline into nearby 3,000-foot ridges. The park features redwood, tan oak, madrone, chaparral, and an 80-foot waterfall that drops from granite cliffs. There is also a 1,680-acre underwater reserve that protects a spectacular assortment of marine life. Seals, sea lions and sea otters can be seen in the park's cove. Hikers can discover the park's backcountry via several trail systems.
Facts
These tents-only campsites are primitive: no hook-ups, dump station or showers are available. There are fire pits, but since they are subject to fire bans, bring cook stoves, as well. Restrooms are available.
